Clearwater Capital

IMAwill be structured as an Individually Managed Account (IMA). We will open and maintain an account in your name and on your behalf. We’ll conduct all management of the investments in your account.

The Clearwater Capital structure offers a number of important advantages over managed funds and other investment management services. The benefits of the IMA structure include:

  • All holdings, transactions, and expenses are transparent
  • New investors do no take on exposures to a fund’s existing holdings which may have already enjoyed their best returns
  • New investors are not liable for the tax payable on gains achieved before they joined
  • Investors are not subject to tax consequences triggered when other investors leave or withdraw funds
  • The portfolio is portable; therefore, it may be transferred between different institutions without triggering tax consequences.

These benefits are shared with other individually managed account structures. Your Clearwater Capital account has additional benefits which may not be available though other IMAs:

  • Transaction, holding, and performance reporting is provided by a third party and is not prepared or controlled by the investment manager. This structure removes the possibility for misrepresentation of performance, holdings, or transactions.
  • Should you ever decide to terminate our investment management service you can simply take over your account without the need to liquidate or transfer holdings.
  • SIPC cover for loses up to $500,000 per account and additional cover through Lloyd’s of London for up to $30 million per account (conditions apply and market risk is not covered).

You will have online access to a range of reporting features you may utilise when you choose, including portfolio performance, holding valuations, cash balances, transactions, income, expenses, and tax reporting.
